Artem Honcharenko is a young specialist with deep theoretical knowledge. Starting from student days, he actively showed interest in studying fundamental law sciences and was the head of the Student Scientific Society. However, as Artem notes, “Theory without practice is dead and barren when the practice is useless and harmful without the theory”. Guided by this idea, the young lawyer tries to take the experience of his mentors, develop practical skills and systematic thinking.
“I am starting legal practice in interesting and complicated times. Law and legal activity will have huge changes in the next decade and, therefore, we will have to go through an extremely difficult period of adaptation,” says A. Honcharenko. “Thanks to work with colleagues, I notice more and more how, as a result of new information technologies and development of web-platforms, lawyers are faced with the fact that their services are transformed into a product structured on separate categories and ready for the purchase by clients from those suppliers that provide the lowest cost. Clients will need not the service packages, but separate products. I am interested in the idea itself of finding the most economically profitable and effective way of the performance of each task”.
The young lawyer admits that on his own experience of working in the Law Firm he is convinced that today, as never before, a split between the law sciences and practice is too extensive. Information technologies and commoditization of law deprive many lawyers of their mediation functions and the last ones have to look for new ways for creating added value. “Obviously, this will fundamentally change the future of the entire industry – law firms, attorneys at law and corporate lawyers, students-interns and law graduates”.
Artem’s mentor and the head of the department Igor Reutov notes the accuracy, attention to detail, and scrupulousness of his mentee. Along with Artem’s professional skills, the colleagues also emphasize the stability of his ethical standards, sense of humor, easiness in communication, openness, and love to live.
He is fond of playing the guitar and basketball, loves outdoor activities.
