The draft law of Ukraine “On the amendments to the laws of Ukraine regarding the distribution of the social advertisement on TV and radio” offers to change the definition of the social advertisement in the Law of Ukraine “On advertisement”. In particular, the social advertisement shall be limited with socially useful information that is directed on the development of the individuals and society, popularization of human values, healthy lifestyle, education etc.
At the same time, it is proposed to exclude any political actions from the social advertisement since its valid wording is too general and covers information of any kind, including politically colored.
In addition, in the case of the draft law acceptance by the Parliament the Law of Ukraine “On advertisement” will be added with new demands to the social advertisement. Also, TV and radio programs should be separated by audio and video tools or titles.
TV and radio companies will be encouraged to broadcast more social advertisements with proportional increase of allowed commercial advertisements and TV sales.
