Igor Reutov is the head of the department and supervisor of the Firm's strategic industries: Information Technology and Financial Services. Moreover, Igor has been leading the Legal Due Diligence practice for many years, advising clients on international business structuring, taxation, intellectual property and investment protection.
Igor has developed and implemented his own legal due diligence program, optimized for different facilities and industries, supported issuance of Collective Investment Scheme investment certificates, closed several project financing deals, innovative for the Ukrainian market, and supported a number of international software development projects.
Mr. Reutov has acquired considerable expertise and a high reputation in the IT industry. Clients acknowledge his expertise and profound legal knowledge. "As a branch, Information technologies in Ukraine require comprehensive legal support – comments Viktor Nesytov, VP Operations at Playtech Corporation, the world's largest online game developer. – This is related not only to intellectual property and contractual law, but also to taxes, labor law, corporate law, including English law, and, unfortunately, recently also to criminal procedures. Igor Reutov is a universal legal decision maker, a person who thinks not of problems but of solutions, he is an expert in many areas necessary both for a developer and for any large company in Ukraine". Svetlana Krivosheieva, CEO at Skywind Tech UA, agrees with him: "Igor is keeping pace with requirements of our industry by finding innovative contractual tools for our needs on an ongoing basis. His documents and advice are always carefully considered, unconventional, individual".
When working with clients, Mr. Reutov prefers close cooperation and tries to see into the economic specifics of business processes to get a complete and comprehensive understanding of the situation, not missing details or subtle things that others simply do not pay attention to.
"Igor is a person with English-like world perception, legal understanding and sense of humor, with super high ethical standards and requirements of himself. He never stops and always keeps his word, – says Ernest Mirchevich Gramatskiy. – For the last ten years, Igor Reutov represents our legal special forces, who is sent to cope with the newest and the most difficult tasks, and who is always victorious. In many ways, it is his attitude towards new clients and large projects that has shaped our standards to the client service as a whole".
Igor is convinced that any choice we make during our career requires us to be consistent. Each step entails changes. We should not just accept them, but be happy about them; follow innovations in our professional field and try to use them for career growth; never forget about our long-term goals; strive for a position we would like to get in the future, which will allow us to be happy and to find a balance between work and our personal life.
"Many firms are a selection of excellent lawyers. There may be a time when clients will require firms to move to the next level – to become efficient organizations, – Mr. Reutov believes. – If we want to surpass our competitors, then, perhaps, we do not need more well-weighed objectives, but a more effective approach to their achievement. We should develop and strictly comply with grounded philosophical principles: ways of doing business, interacting with clients, with our employees and with each other".
Igor devotes much of his time to communication with junior lawyers, to tutoring and mentoring. "Trust, which is the basis of respect, encourages people to get high results, – he believes. – An action plan for creating a great firm consists of five main components: leadership, vision, strategy, innovation, and tactical perfection. It is a mistake to see a "zero-sum game" in any interaction. Such misbelief is the root of many mistakes in politics, jurisprudence and business".
Igor is interested in natural history, is fond of fitness and field-and-track athletics, he also studies foreign languages.
Life creed: "It is smarter to prevent problems".
